this came up in conversation over the weekend. Someone was discussing how they lost 30 lbs. simply by getting a b12 and b6 shot. I have never heard of any relation between b12,b6, and weight loss. Is this legit?

Just the shots, no other changes in diet and exercise? Did this person have any other health issues before the shots?

b12-deficiency can throw a wrench in how you function but you'd have to be quite deficient to see such a prominent effect.

Shots aren't needed for optimal delivery: sublingual lozenges do the same.. but... but I am betting that person didn't take those shots (B6 /B12) but something quite different Wink .. something hormonal that ends with one/ole or oate .

B6 and B12 function in cellular metabolism. Maybe they saw that and figured it was a win! B6 has diuretic effects too. Though I don't see the point of the injections unless they have GI absorption issues  Huh I vote it was a placebo for them to get off their ass and out of the fridge.  Grin

You'd be surprised how many people have GI-problems & malabsorption of B-vitamins as a consequence! Sublingual tablets work like a charm in this case.. or just plain overdosing on them!
Malabsorption of vitamins can indeed slow down metabolism... don't discount that factor!
