I read in one of the threads that she's made over 1 million $$ since that Women's World article.

I read that, too. Now she's banning people left, right and center after they paid their lifetime membership of $60. Hence the class action suit.

What about any personal accountability?

Not saying that this person isn't a fucking idiot, but what about the people that read this diet and actually THINK something like this is GOOD FOR THEM?

I read it and just about laughed my ass off!

Yeah, 400 calories a day. Good luck with that. Have fun with those heart palipitations and shallow breathing.

Didn't she do a fast for like 31 days as well?

Um, YEAH, *I'M* gonna do that.

I read some of journaling that those women did claiming how Kimkins almost killed them, but, come on people, use some common sense. It was YOUR fault in the first place for not doing intensive research on diet and exercise before believing what this moron proclaimed as being "the best" diet for losing weight.

I dunno - I kinda tend to think that anyone thinking this was "healthy" is about as sharp as a bowling ball.

Might as well just go anorexic and eat whatever the hell you WANT for fricking 400 calories. ^*%&! please.

I hear ya!

But I think there were a lot (not all) of desperate women who couldn't lose, probably due to hormone imbalances. They'd try anything, logic be damned. From what I've read, they're beating themselves up now for losing their sense of judgment.

I agree--personal accountability is a big thing, but you do have to consider the mental state of people who'd be willing to shell out $60 to join a site to eat 400 cals a day--they're wanting to try ANYTHING to lose the weight, and Kimmer promises the world.  Also, it can't be all THAT unsafe (they rationalize) because LOTS of people are doing it, why even Kimmer herself!

Errr....wait, what?

I'm new here. I guess I'm one of those bowling balls. I joined Kimkins. I've been going to the gym for years. I've been doing the 5 to 6 meals a day for years. I "never" lost any weight or bodyfat. I am 55 and menopausal. I have worked with bodybuilders and trainers with absolutely no results. I didn't even lose a dress size. I joined Kimkins. I lowered my carbs and my calories, but not drastically. I eat maybe 800-900 calories. Once in a great while, I went lower. I am not able to maintaina lower calorie diet. I just can't do it. But...I did lose 13 lbs. When I stopped doing Kimkins, I gained back 3. I am now holding at 168.  If I had all the answers as to why I can't lose the weight, I wouldn't need support.
BTW..my thyroid is good too. I respect your opinions, but there are alot of us out there, who want to lose the weight. We're not bodybuilders, we just want to look nice that's all. Oh...and it's nice to be here if I'm still welcome.

Mary Ann, welcome!!

You poor thing.  No one should have to diet to such extreme levels.  Are you sure that your thyroid is fine?  Is this what a doc told you?  Do you have the results handy?  Docs are notorious for saying you are "normal" when you are not.  This is not your fault, and I would be happy to help you interpret your results Smiley

Yes, and I was also told that it isn't good for you due to the high fat. I was always told that it was a heart attack waiting to happen. I went with the BFL style and to this day, I still find it hard to break away from that. I honestly think that due to my age and current activity level, I don't need that many calories. But I eat them because I'm supposed to or else I hear that I'm not eating enough. I went to WW for a year and I was the only person there that paid every week to not lose any weight. I worked with an older bodybuilder. He set up a program for me. I met with him once a week. He'd look over my meals and they were good, but not in the right order. Less carbs at night, more earlier in the day  Huh I just gave up. I'm not 20, and my metabolism slowed down drastically when I hit menopause. I never wore anything bigger than a size 8. I'm now in a 14. I had my thyroid checked twice by 2 different doctors. They both told me that it is normal. I never kept the results though.

Can you call up the doc office and ask them to send you the blood work?  I'm betting they only did a TSH test and that you came back normal, but the lab values used for this are not up to current endo recommendations, and also frequently miss people with Hashi's.

The drs. office is closed right now, but I'll call tomorrow and see if I can get the results. If I can pick them up, I'll post them. I think I just eat too much.
